The Curriculum and Instruction Department is committed to providing a challenging and innovative education that addresses the diverse needs of all students. District 146 is focused on implementing a Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum (GVC), which ensures that every student receives a consistent and high-quality education. This approach defines clear learning goals and allocates the necessary resources and time for all students to achieve success.
Committees of teachers, specialists, and administrators, develop curriculum frameworks based on the Illinois Standards and research-based best practices. These frameworks serve as a tool for grade level or content area teams as they collaboratively plan for student learning.
